COVID-19: 10 imported cases registered in Vietnam

VOV.VN - Ten Vietnamese citizens returning from Russia and Angola have been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing the country’s tally of coronavirus infections to 1,202, the Ministry of Health said on November 3.

Eight patients, aged from 7 to 51, returned to Vietnam from Russia on October 31 on flight VN5062.

They were transferred to a concentrated quarantine facility in Hung Yen province after completing immigration and health quarantine procedures.

They all tested positive on November 2 and are now receiving treatment at Hanoi-based Hospital of Tropical Diseases.

Meanwhile, the remaining patients returned to Vietnam from Angola on October 20 on flight VN8. They were also quarantined at a military camp in Bac Ninh province, northern Vietnam, as soon as they landed at Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh.

They both tested positive on November 2 and were immediately transferred to the Bac Ninh provincial General Hospital for medical observation and treatment.

As of 18.00hrs November 3, Vietnam has recorded a total of 1,202 coronavirus cases, including 1,069 recoveries and 35 deaths.

Currently, 98 patients are being given treatment at health facilities and they are all in stable health condition. About 28 cases have tested negative at least once.
