Awards presented to “What do you know about Vietnam?” contest winners

VOV.VN - The Voice of Vietnam’s VOVWorld on December 27 awarded winners of the “What do you know about Vietnam?” contest which was organized for the 75th founding anniversary of the Voice of Vietnam in 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the award ceremony was delayed.

At the ceremony, the Voice of Vietnam presented one second prize to Rabi Sankar Bosu of India, one third prize to C.R. Nurdin of Indonesia and one among five consolation prizes to Rudy Hartono of Indonesia. The first prize winner, Johny Antonio Ramirez Lopez of Peru, is expected to receive the prize in 2023 due to personal reasons.

VOV’s Vice President Ngo Minh Hien praised the listeners’ support for VOV in general and VOVWorld in particular.

"Vietnam’s prestige and relations with other countries have grown over the past years. We aim to renew our delivery of programs to further promote the image of Vietnam to international friends. We have worked out orientations and ways to attract more audience to our programs. In 2023, in addition to radio broadcasts, we will produce video clips featuring Vietnamese customs, traditions, culture and values," said Mr. Hien.

VOVWorld Director Nguyen Tien Long said the contest is a measurement of Vietnam’s communication of its image and value to international friends, a measurement of media agencies in Vietnam and also a measurement of foreign friends’ sentiments for Vietnam and VOV staff.

“The 'What do you know about Vietnam?' contest created a bridge connecting international friends with the Voice of Vietnam. The winners are the ambassadors who deliver foreign friends’ sentiment to the Voice of Vietnam and to VOVWorld. We are very proud and happy to welcome the Ambassadors of VOV’s listeners around the world,” said Mr. Long.

Robi Sankar Bosu, the second winner of the contest, said, “I’m very happy and appreciative because after a long time listening to you on the radio, I have finally arrived in your country. When I return to India, I promise to launch a campaign to further introduce VOV to other listeners.”

The winners were awarded with trips to Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh province, Bai Dinh-Trang An relic site in Ninh Binh province, and tourist attractions in Hanoi.
