Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai affirmed that Vietnam is ready to share experience in management, exploration and use of minerals with other ASEAN member countries.

The country wants to create a unified policy on trade and investment in minerals within the bloc to boost the implementation of the ASEAN Mineral Cooperation Action Plan (AMCAP) for the 2010-2015 period.

The Deputy PM emphasized the need to discuss and work out sustainable development strategy for exploration and preservation of minerals in ASEAN and launch a communication campaign to raise public awareness of the socio-economic and environmental aspects of mineral deposits.
