25 students hospitalized after stage collapse in HCM City

There have been no reports of serious injuries or fatalities, although some of the victims are thought to have suffered brain injuries. Doctor Nguyen Duy Long, director of Ho Chi Minh City's 115 Emergency Centre said the centre received an emergency call on the morning of November 20 saying that dozens of students at Huynh Van Banh primary school in Vinh Loc A commune, Binh Chanh district were injured as a result of a collapsed stage.

The emergency center mobilized two ambulances and many doctors to the scene. The injured students were rushed to HCM City Children's Hospital with a further 15 students being sent toCho Ray Hospital.

According to initial information, the incident occurred when Huynh Van Banh primary school held a ceremony to mark Teachers’ Day with the participation of many teachers, students and parents.

Do Minh Hoang from the HCMC Education and Training Department said the department will work together with the relevant units to conduct a further investigation into the case.
