Vietnamese Prime Minister concludes official visit to Brazil
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his spouse, and high-level Vietnamese delegation departed Rio de Janeiro for Hanoi at 8:00 p.m. on July 7 (local time), successfully concluding their participation in the 2025 expanded BRICS Summit and bilateral activities in Brazil.

With nearly 40 intensive and back-to-back activities over the course of three days, the working trip of PM Pham Minh Chinh and his delegation made a strong impression and contributed significantly to the overall success of the 2025 expanded BRICS Summit.
PM Chinh, along with 35 leaders and representatives from BRICS member countries, partner countries, and invited guests, engaged in extensive and substantive discussions on strengthening multilateralism, economic and financial issues, artificial intelligence, the environment, COP30, and global health.
The agreements reached at the 2025 expanded BRICS Summit are expected to boost effective cooperation and help tackle sustainable development challenges faced by emerging economies.
During the sessions, the Vietnamese Government leader delivered a strong message on the need to enhance multilateral cooperation and affirmed the role of developing countries in the global governance system.
He also put forward a number of important and practical proposals in line with the interests and concerns of developing countries, covering areas such as healthcare, environmental protection, climate change response, and enhancing resilience to epidemics.
PM Chinh’s proposals also addressed global concerns, including the reform of international financial institutions, promotion of South–South economic cooperation, application of technology and artificial intelligence for sustainable development, and ensuring equitable access to financial, technological, and healthcare resources for developing countries.
During the Summit, he held meetings and exchanges with numerous heads of state, heads of government, and leaders of other countries, as well as with partners and business representatives.
Notably, he had an in-depth bilateral meeting with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The two leaders agreed to continue working closely together to implement measures that further strengthen bilateral relations in accordance with the Strategic Partnership framework.
On this occasion, Brazil exported its first shipment of beef to Vietnam, while Vietnam sent a shipment of Tra fish (pangasius), basa (basa fish) , and tilapia to Brazil, thereby contributing to more effective economic and trade cooperation and bringing practical benefits to the people and businesses of both countries.
