Vietnam to continue positive contributions to G77 and China’s common work
VOV.VN -The country will continue to make active and substantive contributions to the common work of the Group of 77 (G77) and China, in the spirit of promoting co-operation, friendship, and multilateralism, said Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, permanent representative of Vietnam to the UN.

The 60th anniversary of the G77 and China was celebrated at the UN headquarters on October 25, with the attendance of President of the UN General Assembly Philemon Yang and Ambassadors of the G77 member countries and China.
Upon addressing the event, said Ambassador Giang affirmed that the Group of 77 and China is one of the most important groups at the UN, not only because of the large number of members, but also because of the spirit of solidarity in promoting economic and development priorities for developing nations.
At the Sustainable Development Summit 2023 and the Summit of the Future 2024, the Group promoted a common stance, defending the interests and priorities of developing countries in implementing the sustainable development goals, as well as mobilizing finance and implementation methods in a bid to achieve these goals.
Vietnam has therefore proposed continuing to promote the priorities and needs of the G77 and China at major processes of the UN moving forward. The nation will strengthen South-South co-operation to support each other in the development process whilst working to enhance working methods, and maintaining traditional values in a bid to improve the Group's operational efficiency.
Vietnam is therefore proud to be one of the founding members of the G77 and will continue to make active and substantive contributions to the Group's common work in the spirit of promoting co-operation, friendship, and multilateralism, Ambassador Giang emphasized.
