Ukrainian President praises Vietnam's achievements in renewal process
VOV.VN - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has sounded his appreciation for the nation’s various achievements in terms of its renewal process, economic development, regional and international integration, and further improvements of citizen’s welfare.
During a recent reception held for Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Hong Thach who came to present his credentials, President Zelensky conveyed his invitation to Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong to visit Ukraine in August in the lead up to the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence Day.
The Ukrainian leader also expressed his delight at the positive developments of friendship ties and fruitful co-operation that has developed between the two nations, extending his thanks to Vietnam for helping the Eastern European country with medical supplies during the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
He added that he is keen to ramp up bilateral co-operation in a multitude of fields, especially in terms of vaccine production, trade, and culture.
President Zelensky wished Ambassador Thach a successful term and hopes that he will make a positive contribution to reinforcing the friendship that exists between each respective government along with the people of both nations moving forward.
In response, the Vietnamese diplomat affirmed that the country always places great importance to its relations with Ukraine and stated his ambition to see the relationship steadily grow in a number of channels through the State, the National Assembly, the Government, and interpersonal exchanges.
The Ambassador also congratulated President Zelensky and Ukraine for their remarkable achievements in terms of socio-economic development, stability, control of the COVID-19 pandemic, and greater regional and international integration.
Ambassador Thach expressed his desire that the Ukrainian President, along with their various ministries and agencies, would assist him to competently fulfill his duties, thereby promoting stable mutual ties. This will ultimately contribute to creating favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community to feel secure in everyday activities in the Eastern European nation.
As part of the occasion, Ambassador Thach passed on an invitation to visit Vietnam from General Secretary Trong to President Zelensky and his wife at a suitable time in the future. The invitation was graciously accepted, with the visit set to be arranged through diplomatic channels.
