Top Vietnamese legislator ends Russia visit
VOV.VN - With 30 activities taking place over the course of three days, the official visit to Russia by National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his high-ranking delegation has been a great success.
NA Chairman Man landed at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on the morning of September 11, ending his successful official visit to Russia.
The trip from September 8 to September 10 was made at the invitation of Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin, chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, and Valentina Ivanovna Matvienko, speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly.
During the visit, NA Chairman Man met with President Vladimir Putin and held talks with both Volodin and Matvienko.

The host leaders showed their confidence that following the visit, high-level parliamentary meetings will take place more regularly, providing a firm foundation for and significantly contributing to the further development of the comprehensive strategic partnership that exists between the nation and Russia.
As part of this occasion, NA Chairman Man and Matvienko signed a co-operation agreement between the NA and the Federation Council, as well as witnessed the signing of another deal between Vietnam’s southern province of Ba Ria - Vung Tau and the Rostov region of Russia.
Meanwhile, NA Chairman Man and Volodin co-chaired the third meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.
The joint statement issued at the end of the meeting affirmed both sides’ readiness for co-operation in law-making and ensuring the effective implementation of agreements reached by the two countries, as well as their leaders, in order to foster the comprehensive strategic partnership.
The top legislator hosted receptions for Gennady Zyuganov, leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF); Sergey Mironov, chairman of A Just Russia - Patriots - For Truth (SR) party; and representatives of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association and the Association of Russian Veterans in Vietnam.
He also met with representatives of several major Russian groups like Gazprom and Novatek, the Governor of Rostov region, and representatives of the Vietnamese business association in Russia, as well as witnessed the exchange of a number of signed documents between Vietnamese and Russian businesses.
