On this occasion, the Vietnamese President suggested Madagascar back Vietnam’s bid to run for a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council in the 2020-2021 tenure.
They exchanged views on a host of issues to increase cooperation within the International Organisation of La Francophonie. President Quang spoke highly of Madagascar’s efforts to host the 16th Francophonie Summit.
President Quang also thanked the Government of Madagascar for supporting renovation work for a memorial site and bronze bust of the late President at Ho Chi Minh square in Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar. This demonstrates the fine sentiments of the people of Madagascar towards President Ho Chi Minh- a national hero of Vietnam and a world cultural celebrity recognized by the UNESCO, who laid the foundation for the friendship between Vietnamese and Madagascar people, Quang told his host.
