Laos, Vietnam share experience in Party external affairs
VOV.VN - Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Le Hoai Trung hosted a reception in Hanoi on July 16 for deputy head of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee's Commission for External Relations Valaxay Lengsavad.

At the function, both sides pledged to effectively implement cooperation agreements between the two Parties and commissions as a means of further deepening the Vietnam-Laos special solidarity in an effective and practical fashion.
Trung also expressed confidence in Laos' future under the LPRP's leadership, while expecting that Laos will continue to reap even greater success in carrying out the resolution of the 11th National Party Congress, holding forthcoming Party Congresses, and performing its roles as Chair of ASEAN and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) this year.
He underlined the significance of the Vietnam-Laos special solidarity and the Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia trilateral relationship and reaffirmed Vietnam's commitment to preserving and nurturing the special Vietnam-Laos ties, helping maintain political stability and socio-economic development of both nations.
This cooperation will serve as a foundation and driving force for taking bilateral relations to new heights.
In response, the Lao official acknowledged the remarkable progress in bilateral relations, saying that both sides have effectively realized agreements reached by leaders of both Parties and countries, including the organisation of visits by senior leaders of the two Parties and countries, particularly those established during reciprocal visits.
He expressed gratitude for Vietnam's longstanding support and assistance to Laos, and provided updates on the current situation in Laos and the outcomes of the talks between the two Parties' commissions of external relations.
Earlier the same day, deputy head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Nguyen Minh Tam held talks with the Lao delegation.
The two sides briefed each other on the situations of the respective Parties, the Vietnam-Laos relationship, and joint work between their commissions.
They compared notes on global and regional developments and reached a consensus on future cooperation directions, including maintaining delegation exchange and sharing information and experience, and boosting closer collaboration on external affairs.
