Embassy urged to further connect Vietnamese and Czech localities

Delegations from the provinces of Bac Lieu, Vinh Long, Phu Yen, Quang Binh and Quang Ninh, and Hue city has called on the Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic to continue serving a bridge to support localities of the two countries to more effectively exploit the potential of bilateral cooperation.

During their working visit to Prague from June 3-4, the delegation expressed their desire to expand cooperation with localities of the Czech Republic in areas of mutual interest.

Receiving the delegation, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Duong Hoai Nam, said that the visit was an opportunity for the Vietnamese localities to better understand the potential and opportunities for cooperation with the Czech Republic, thereby building appropriate strategies and effectively implementing cooperation activities in the coming time.

The ambassador emphasised that although the Czech Republic does not have a large population, with its geographical location in the heart of Europe and its status as a member of the European Union (EU), this country plays an important role in connecting and distributing goods across the bloc. Cooperation between Vietnamese and Czech localities, especially when meeting the standards and technical requirements of the EU market, will open up great opportunities for Vietnamese goods to not only penetrate the Czech market but also spread to central European countries and the Baltic region.

Nam noted that the Czech Republic has great potential for cooperation with Vietnamese localities, especially in areas such as machinery and equipment manufacturing, science and technology, chemicals, fertilisers and pharmaceuticals. The Ambassador also emphasised that the Czech Republic's high-quality education with reasonable costs compared to the EU average is an attractive strength.

On the same day, a seminar was held to connect Vietnamese localities and the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic. During the event, leaders of the Vietnamese provinces and cities emphasised their desire to promote investment cooperation opportunities between Vietnamese enterprises and partners in the Czech Republic as well as in Europe.

For their part, the Vietnamese business community in the Czech Republic and Europe expressed their excitement at Vietnam's economic and social achievements. They affirmed that overseas Vietnamese always look towards their homeland, are ready to promote investment opportunities and cooperation with localities.

Previously, the delegation had a working session with Mayor of Karlovy Vary city Andrea Pfeffer Ferklová, and members of the Karlovy Vary Regional Council to promote tourism, call for investment and boost bilateral cooperation.
