PM reaffirms Party and State support for Vietnamese expatriates abroad
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on August 22 praised Vietnamese expatriates for their wholehearted support and assistance to the fatherland over the years and said the Party and State stay ready to address their concerns.

Addressing a national forum of Vietnamese intellectuals and experts in Hanoi, Chinh reiterated the Party and State’s consistent policy of considering the Vietnamese community abroad an integral part and a valuable resource of the Vietnamese nation. He thanked Vietnamese experts, scientists, and people abroad who have made outstanding achievements in various fields, bringing glory to the country.
The success of the Vietnamese community abroad is also the success of Vietnam. The country is proud of Vietnamese compatriots abroad, said the PM.
He appreciated delegates’ valuable opinions and affirmed the Party and State listen to their thoughts and wishes to address their concerns.
The central goal is to support and assist Vietnamese people abroad to build a strong and cohesive community to stabilize their lives, feel secure in doing business, integrate well into their host countries, and turn their hearts to the fatherland, said Chinh.
He requested relevant agencies to constantly renovate overseas Vietnamese affairs, including supporting and mobilizing Vietnamese expatriates, in order to bring into full play their potential and strengths to contribute to their homeland, and build the Vietnamese identity abroad.
The Party, State, and Government always create conditions and ensure Vietnamese expatriates’ legitimate rights in terms of land, housing, nationality, residence, investment and business, said the PM, while recalling the Party chief’s recent speech on removing difficulties in institutions and creating the best possible conditions for people, including Vietnamese expatriates, to contribute to national development.

The government leader expressed his hope that Vietnamese expatriates would continue to unite and be strong, to have a better position in their host countries and to strengthen Vietnam’s position globally. He asked them to continue to propose initiatives and come up with specific solutions, especially in the fields of science-technology and innovation, to further promote the effectiveness of the community’s resources for national development.
During the forum, Vietnamese intellectuals and experts examined ideas on green growth and sustainable development issues of the country.
The forum was held within the framework of the fourth national conference on overseas Vietnamese which is getting underway in Hanoi from August 21-24 to unlock the expatriates’ resources for national development.
As many as 400 delegates representing more than 6.5 million Vietnamese people overseas attended the openeing ceremony of the conference and forum in Hanoi.
