Hero of the People's Armed Forces title awarded to Ho Chi Minh City Police
VOV.VN - Party General Secretary and President To Lam on August 17 presented the badge “Hero of the People's Armed Forces” to the police of Ho Chi Minh City in recognition of the force’s contributions to protecting local security and order.
This is the second time the noble State distinction, which is awarded to individuals with exceptional outstanding achievements in combat and combat service, has been given to the Ho Chi Minh City police.
The awarding is part of a ceremony held in Ho Chi Minh City on the same day to mark 55 years of implementing President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament (1969-2024) and 79 years of the People’s Public Security Traditional Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2024).
Over the past 55 years, the People’s Public Security force, including the Ho Chi Minh City police, have continuously grown in all aspects, wholeheartedly and devotedly serving the Fatherland and the people, and affirming its core position and role in protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety.
In his remarks, To Lam praised the Party Committee, administration, armed forces and people of Ho Chi Minh City for their outstanding achievements in implementing President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament, developing the city into the spearhead locomotive of not only the South-eastern region but also the country as a whole.
The accomplishment of goals and tasks set out in the resolution of the 13th National Party Congress in the context of unpredictable developments locally and globally requires the entire Party, army and people, including Ho Chi Minh City, to make the most of opportunities and advantages, and overcome challenges, in order to move the country forward, said the Party leader.
He requested that the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the Central Party Committee of the People’s Public Security bring into full play the strength of the entire political system and the entire population, combined with the strength of the times, to firmly protect national and local security and order, including turning Ho Chi Minh City into a civilized, modern, dynamic and creative metropolis.
Breakthrough solutions should be introduced and put in place to spur the city’s strong development, making it the growth pole of the country, the economic, financial and service center of Asia, and an attractive global destination, while developing on a par with other major cities market in the world, he said.
Earlier, Party General Secretary and President To Lam paid a floral tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at the monument dedicated to the late president on Nguyen Hue walking street in District 1.
