PM Pham Minh Chinh meets Vietnamese expatriates in Beijing
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on June 25 met with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in China upon his arrival in Beijing on the same day for an official visit to China.

There are approximately 43,000 Vietnamese nationals living, studying and working in China. They promote the tradition of solidarity and mutual support and assistance, while preserving national identity and looking to the homeland. They also make a positive contribution to socio-economic development of their host country and act as a bridge to strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries.
The Vietnamese Embassy and representative agencies in China actively coordinate with Chinese authorities to foster the implementation of cooperation agreements between the two countries, and to support Vietnamese expatriates to have a full legal status, stabilize their lives, develop the economy, comply with the law and integrate well into the local community.
During the meeting, representatives of the Vietnamese community made some proposals regarding citizen protection, development of the Vietnamese community in China, and popularization of Vietnam’s profile in China. They also proposed solutions to promote Vietnam-China relations, especially in the fields of trade, tourism, people-to-people exchanges, among others.
PM Pham Minh Chinh for his part recalled the historical visit to China in November 2022 by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, during which the two sides had outlined orientations for bilateral cooperation in the future
After the visit, he said Vietnam - China relations have markedly developed, with political trust and economic-trade-investment cooperation enhanced. His visit this time is to concretize and deepen the traditional relationship between the two countries.

The PM briefed the expatriates on Vietnam’s development orientations as well as difficulties the economy is facing, and expected the community would share the burden with the homeland.
Talking about the the Sino-Vietnamese relations, he said the comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership has been developing positively. Vietnam is China’s fourth largest trading partner in the world, with two-way trade turnover last year reaching US$175 billion, accounting for a quarter of the total trade turnover between China and ASEAN.
He highly appreciated the community’s contributions to the homeland and Vietnam-China relations, and reaffirmed the Vietnamese Party and State always consider overseas Vietnamese, including those in China, an integral part of the great national unity bloc.
He acknowledged their opinions and said he would direct relevant ministries and agencies to consider their proposals. He encouraged the community to constantly uphold the tradition of solidarity and mutual assistance to overcome difficulties, actively integrate into their host community and help bolster the comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership between the two countries.
