61 Vietnamese nationals rescued from Myanmar bust of scam casinos
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam has requested the Vietnamese Embassy in Myanmar to deploy necessary citizen protection work for 61 Vietnamese nationals recently rescued from notorious cyber-scam casinos in Myanmar.

The 61 Vietnamese citizens were among nearly 200 foreigners rescued by competent agencies of Myanmar at the gambling sites in the northern border area of the country, said Pham Thu Hang, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam at a press briefing on October 26, citing sources from the Embassy of Vietnam in Myanmar.
Right after receiving the information, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs directed the Embassy of Vietnam in Myanmar to cooperate with local authorities to verify information and to request that Myanmar ensure proper accommodations for and identify these Vietnamese citizens, said Hang.
According the spokesperson, the ministry has asked the embassy and relevant Vietnamese agencies to cooperate with Myanmar authorities to implement necessary consular procedures, build citizen protection measures, and support the repatriation of the citizens after Myanmar authorities have come to a conclusion.
