Cau Bong Festival in Tra Que village

(VOV) - Annually on the 7th day of the first lunar month, thousands flock to the charming little village of Tra Que on the outskirts of Hoi An ancient town to attend the Cau Bong festival. 

The festival is famous for its sweet scented vegetables used in traditional Hoi An dishes such as Cao Lau, Quang noodles and rice pancake folded in half (and often filled with shrimp, meat and soya bean sprouts).

Villagers pray for timely rains and favourable weather.

The village’s culture attracts large numbers of tourists. 

Local people place offerings on the altar and pray for an abundant crop and prosperous life. 

Many foreigners are interested in farming and processing techniques.

Foreign tourists are curious about the festival.
