This is the first visit made by a key Vietnamese leader to the Dominican Republic, demonstrating the nation’s commitment to strengthening and deepening the solidarity, friendship, and co-operation between the two countries, towards the 20th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations.

Both sides agree to expand and deepen bilateral ties in all areas, particularly in economics, trade, investment, the digital economy, renewable energy, security and crime prevention, sustainable tourism development, culture, education, environmental protection, and climate change response.

They also agree to hold the first session of the Joint committee for economic, trade, and industrial co-operation soon.

Following the conclusion of talks, the two leaders chair a joint press conference to inform the outcomes of discussions and to witness the signing of co-operation documents between the two countries.

Also, on the same day, PM Chinh meets with President of the Chamber of Deputies Alfredo Pacheco. They are committed to strongly supporting the early negotiations on agreements on free trade, investment protection, cultural and education-training collaboration, and visa exemptions for ordinary passport holders.

The two leaders believe that achieving these agreements will soon bring tangible benefits to both businesses and citizens of both countries whilst significantly elevating bilateral relations to a new height.
