The photo contest receives a total of 25,000 entries from photographers based in 147 countries worldwide. As the best single image in the landscapes and elements category, a photo taken in Colorado, the United States, by Australian James Smart shows a hurricane tearing through the countryside.

Hungarian photographer Irene Becker is honoured in the single image category for his work titled "The River House".
