VOV.VN - Sniffer dogs from the Ministry of National Defence have been mobilised to join a mass search and rescue operation for 12 missing victims at a landslide site in Tra Leng commune of Nam Tra My district in Quang Nam province.

Local authorities hope that with the support of sniffer dogs, each of the missing victims will be found as quickly as possible, before heavy rain falls in the coming days.

In addition to using sniffer dogs, hundreds of soldiers from Military Zone 5 have been tirelessly carrying out rescue efforts at the landslide site.

As a result of the continued impact of Typhoon Molave’s circulation, a series of intense periods of rainfall led to Quang Nam province enduring several major landslides in recent days.

As many as 55 people were left buried in debris on October 28 following two major landslides which struck Nam Tra My district in Quang Nam province.

Since rescue efforts first began, a total of 33 people have been saved.
