As the organisers of the occasion, the administration of Lai Chau province and Tienphong (Pioneer) newspaper have spent a long time preparing for the fourth version of the annual competition.

This year’s event marks the first time that organisers have offered visitors the chance to take part in actual paragliding activities from a stadium in Tam Duong town, therefore allowing them to witness the beautiful landscapes of Lai Chau province from high above.

During the competition paragliders fly from the Si Thau Chai community tourism village in Ho Thau commune located on the peak of Putaleng mountain and then land at a stadium located in Tam Duong town.

Standing at a height of 3,049 metres, Putaleng in the Hoang Lien Son mountain range is the nation’s second highest peak after Fansipan, which stands at 3,143 metres.
