Lucky money featuring dragon image in demand ahead of Tet
VOV.VN - Banknotes or lucky money printed with images of the dragon are in high demand as the Lunar New Year, known locally as Tet, draws near.
This year has seen demand greatly increase for US$2 notes printed with images of the dragon which is the zodiac animal for the 2024 Lunar New Year.
A social media influencer who began receiving orders for notes from December, 2023, said the US$2 notes with images of dragon sell for about VND150,000.
Macau banknotes are among the favourite items of customers. Many traders share that demand for new money peaked near the end of the year and will last up to Tet.
Five Bhutanese banknotes printed with images of the dragon cost VND150,000. Weeks before Tet, many people begin to prepare for buying new or special banknotes which are believed to bring both luck and happiness for the new year.
Gold coins are also in high demand with just one month to go before the start of Tet.
