Also on June 12 morning, President Luong Cuong hosts an official welcoming ceremony for President Gitanas Nauseda and the First Lady.

During the talks held shortly after the welcoming ceremony, both sides agree to promote cooperation in the fields of defence and security, agriculture, science and technology, among others. President Luong Cuong calls on Lithuania to encourage other EU member states to soon ratify European Union – Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and to support the European Commission in lifting the “yellow card” on Vietnam’s seafood exports.

After the talks, President Luong Cuong and President Gitanas Nauseda witness the signing of several cooperation agreements between the two countries in the fields of energy, science and technology, agriculture, and finance.

Meeting with Party General Secretary To Lam, President Gitanas Nauseda appreciates Vietnam’s role and position in the region and the world, and expresses Lithuania’s desire to further strengthen relations with Vietnam, both bilaterally and multilaterally.

The same day, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man meets with President Gitanas Nauseda. Both sides agree to strengthen political trust, promote high-level delegation exchanges, and closely coordinate at international organisations and multilateral forums.

On this occasion, Vietnam and Lithuania hold a joint business forum on June 12, demonstrating their joint efforts to strengthen business-to-business connectivity, especially as both countries are members of the EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

On June 12 evening, President Luong Cuong and the First Lady host a formal banquet in honour of President Gitanas Nauseda and the First Lady. President Luong Cuong expresses his belief that Vietnam and Lithuania will move forward together on a path of cooperation and sustainable development. Meanwhile, President Nauseda says the official visit to Vietnam is an opportunity for both sides to share and unlock the great cooperation potential between the two countries.

Shortly after the formal banquet, the high-ranking Lithuanian delegation led by President Gitanas Nauseda leaves Hanoi, successfully concluding an official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of President Luong Cuong.
