VOV.VN - A funeral service of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh was solemnly held on January 23 morning at Tu Hieu pagoda in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.
Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh passes away at Tu Hieu Pagoda on Januar 22 morning at the age of 96.
According to the obituary, the funeral will be held in the form of a silent Buddhist meditation retreat following the Zen Master’s will, and it will last for seven days.
During the seven-day funeral, Buddhists and people can come to pay their last respect to and practice mindfulness to ensure the whole funeral ceremony takes place in a solemn, pure and tranquil manner.
Monks and nuns carry the Zen Master from the secret room to the meditation hall of Tu Hieu pagoda where his deceased body is placed in a casket for public viewing.
