VOV.VN - Tens of thousands of Vietnamese people and travelers have flocked to Van Lang Park in Viet Tri city of Phu Tho province, northern Vietnam, to enjoy a special art programme and a spectacular fireworks display to commemorate the Hung Kings, the founders of the Vietnamese nation.

Vietnamese people hold an annual festival on the 10th day of the third lunar month to celebrate the death anniversary of the Hung Kings believed to be the founders of the Vietnamese people thousands of years ago.

This year, the festival falls on April 21. In an ongoing effort to halt the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, organisers have decided to suspend sidelines activities of the festival, except for the incense offering ceremony.

Part of this year’s festival is a 15-minute long fireworks display which takes place on the eve of the opening ceremony.
