The first day of the four-day National Day holiday sees Noi Bai International Airport busier than usual, receiving 95,000 arrivals and 557 flights on August 31.

Noi Bai International Airport is expected to welcome about 338,000 passengers with nearly 2,100 flights during the four-day National Day holiday, an increase of 11% compared to normal days.

The transport hub is one of the nation’s largest airports and has made plans to ensure the best services possible for passengers passing through during the holiday from August 31 to September 3.

Noi Bai International Airport has co-operated with local airlines and ground handling companies to closely follow the flight plan to ensure its best service to passengers during peak hours.

The peak day on September 3 is forecast to cater to over 96,000 passengers, including nearly 35,000 foreigners, as well as 238 international flights and 331 domestic ones.

Following a directive from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, the airport will implement enhanced aviation security measures at Level 1, whilst proactively preparing for peak service during the National Day holiday.

Meanwhile, tens of thousands of passengers gathered at bus stations on August 31 as they depart Hanoi and travel to the countryside for the national holiday.
