Hot air balloon festival greets tourists to Hue

Opening with the theme of “Balloon Festival – Hue Former Citadel From the Sky”, the festival is jointly organised by the Thua Thien-Hue Tourism Department and Hexa Media.

Organisers expect to create a fresh and unique tourism product to make Hue a premier festival city for the country as a whole.

Twenty balloons take part in the festival held at Ham Nghi Yard inside the Hue former Imperial Citadel.

Half of the smaller balloons remain stationary at one site for decorative purposes, while 10 larger ones fly majestically along the Huong River, moving to the east towards the various lagoons and the Thuan An Sea.

The price of a ticket to see the stationary balloons is VND170,000, equal to US$7.30, per person, while a flight costs VND5 million per person, including insurance.
