Vietnam seeks to attract investment in strategic technology sectors at SEMICON SEA 2025
VOV.VN - The National Innovation Centre (NIC), in collaboration with the Embassy of Vietnam in Singapore, Meta Corporation, and the Southeast Asia Semiconductor Industry Association, organised an investment forum in Singapore on March 20 to promote Vietnam as a destination for innovation and strategic technology.

The forum, held on the sidelines of the ongoing Semiconductor Southeast Asia 2025 Exhibition (SEMICON SEA 2025), aimed to promote cooperation and investment in strategic technologies such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), smart manufacturing, and high-tech industries.
It brought together more than 150 delegates from leading technology corporations, research institutes, and universities of Vietnam, Singapore, and other countries, including Meta, Cadence, Marvell, Dassault Systemes, Siemens EDA, A*Star, Becamex, Viettel, FPT, Deep C, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City.
The event focused on promoting Vietnam’s investment environment and high-tech ecosystem and introducing the Government’s priority policies in strategic sectors such as semiconductors, AI, digital technology, and smart manufacturing. It sought to connect businesses, research institutes, and international partners to promote technology transfer; and enhance cooperation in training and developing the semiconductor workforce, aiming to establish a regional talent training centre in Vietnam.
Addressing delegates, Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Tran Phuoc Anh emphasized that This year’s SEMICON SEA theme of Stronger Together – Collaborating to Navigate Uncertainties and Fostering Resilience resonates deeply with Vietnam’s approach to global partnerships and its vision for a prosperous technological future.
The Government of Vietnam has identified innovation and technology as key drivers of breakthrough growth, he said, adding the forum presents a good opportunity for delegates to discuss ways to enhance the effectiveness of investment and cooperation between Vietnamese entities and international partners.
At the forum, representatives from Dassault Systemes, Siemens, Marvell, Deep C, the Management Boards of high-tech parks, and authorities of Vietnamese localities shared strategic perspectives to strengthen investment linkages and develop a sustainable technology ecosystem in Vietnam.
Ng Aik Hock, director of Cities - Public Services Asia Pacific at Dassault Systemes highlighted the investment environment for innovation in Vietnam, saying the country is one of the fastest-growing industrial hubs in the world, supported by a strong government that promotes Industry 4.0 and production stability, while racing toward digitalization. He affirmed that Dassault Systemes is increasing investment and resources to serve both current and future Vietnamese customers.
Vietnam has sent a delegation to attend SEMICON SEA 2025 held in Singapore from May 20 to 22. The delegation comprises prominent Vietnamese enterprises, tech corporations, organisations, institutes, and universities specialising in semiconductors, electronics, AI, and high technology. Notable participants include Viettel, FPT, Becamex, Sovico, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, and representatives from localities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Bac Giang.
Vietnam’s series of activities at SEMICON SEA 2025, along with the participation of leading enterprises and research organisations, marked a significant step forward in integrating the country more deeply into the global semiconductor supply chain.
