Vietfish 2014 opens in HCM City
(VOV) -The 2014 Vietnam International Fisheries Exhibition and Trade Fair (Vietfish) opened at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Centre (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City on August 6.
The exhibition, organized by the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), drew 302 stands from 170 businesses involved in seafood processing, machine equipment manufacturing and related services.
Notably, a large booth with an eye-catching design was also built to display domestic products of 26 VASEP business members.
Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh highlighted the event as the good way to push up the development of Vietnamese seafood industry as it provides a great opportunity for domestic and foreign businesses to share information, increase cooperation, and promote Vietnamese seafood globally.
“Over the past 16 years, Vietfish has affirmed its role in promoting the image of Vietnamese aquatic products high-quality products to international customers”, said VASEP Chairman Tran Thien Hai.
Within the framework of the exhibition, conferences and workshops will be staged with the participation of many international scholars from the Global GAP, Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA), World Widelife Fund (WWF) and VASEP.
