Tien Giang firm exports refined edible bird’s nests to China
VOV.VN - Tri Son Trading & Service Co., Ltd. in southern Tien Giang province has successfully exported refined edible bird’s nests through official trade channels to China.

Tri Son has shipped four batches totaling approximately 400 kg of bird’s nest to China by air, confirmed CEO Bui Bang Son.
Son revealed that China has approved an annual import quota of 70 tonnes of bird’s nest from Tri Sơn, and in the initial phase, the company plans to export 1 tonne per month.
“Although export prices to China are currently lower than domestic ones, we aim to sustain and expand this market to stabilize the bird’s nest industry and secure a consistent output for farmers” said the CEO.
“However, export standards are highly demanding, requiring strict quality control and competitive pricing to compete with Indonesia and Malaysia. Our next goal is to enter the Republic of Korea, with contracts already signed, and we are preparing to export the products to Australia and the United States.”
To meet international demand, the company has established over 20,000 square meters of birdhouses and partnered with various satellite farms both within and outside the province. To date, 265 birdhouses have been granted region-specific farming codes, qualifying them for export.
In addition, the company has built multiple processing plants that adhere to strict food safety standards, including ISO 22000:2018 and HACCP, to enhance product quality and meet export requirements.
In recent years, commercial bird’s nest farming in Tien Giang has flourished, delivering significant economic benefits. The province now hosts over 1,700 birdhouses, ranking third nationwide after Kien Giang and Binh Dinh.
Several businesses have invested in large-scale birdhouse farms and processing facilities, receiving OCOP (One Commune, One Product) certification to supply both domestic and international markets.
