Thailand’s Central Group helps boost consumption of Vietnamese products
VOV.VN - Representatives of Thailand’s Central Group and Vietnam’s Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoIT) have inked a cooperation document for the 2026-2028 period, with the goal of enhancing the consumption of Vietnamese products in both domestic and international markets.

The document was signed in Hanoi on May during Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra's official visit to Vietnam. The signing follows discussions between the two sides, aimed at promoting Vietnamese products while boosting the competitiveness of local businesses, particularly in the sectors of consumer goods, agricultural products, and seafood.
Under the signed document, Central Group will work closely with the MoIT to organise annual trade promotion activities in Vietnam and other countries, including the Vietnamese Goods Week in Thailand. It will also participate in the Vietnam International Sourcing event series, designed to strengthen connections between domestic suppliers and international distribution networks.
Notably, Central Group has pledged to provide Vietnamese firms with technical guidelines on the necessary standards for their products to be accepted into the group’s supermarket systems and commercial hubs in its operational markets.
As part of the document, both parties will collaborate on research and development projects to produce agricultural products that meet both domestic and international quality standards. They will also assist businesses in distributing products through Central Group’s systems and help build brands for Vietnamese specialty agricultural goods.
In addition, the two sides will cooperate to enhance the quality of human resources in the distribution and retail sectors through specialised training programmes and technical support. Central Group will also focus on developing product consumption value chains for ethnic minority and mountainous areas, as well as implementing community livelihood models in Vietnam.
The two sides are fully committed to maintaining regular dialogue and removing hurdles faced during the implementation process.
