Petrol prices fall slightly following latest adjustment
VOV.VN - Retail petrol prices were revised down as of December 5 afternoon following the latest adjustment made by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance.
The price of diesel 0.05S dropped by VND390 to VND18,380 per litre while kerosene was capped at VND18,810 per litre, down VND330. The price of mazut oil 180CST 3.5S remained unchanged at VND16,120 per kg.
In addition, the two ministries decided not to make use of the petrol price stabilisation fund in this adjustment.
Since the beginning of the year, petrol prices have undergone a total of 23 times increases and 25 times declines.
Experts pointed out that fuel prices in the global market fluctuated over the past seven days due to a decrease in US crude oil reserves.
Over the past seven days, each barrel of RON 95 petrol and diesel fell to US$83.9 and US$87.6, respectively. Only the price of mazut oil increased slightly to reach US$454.6 per tonne.
Moreover, with the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies (OPEC+)’s plan on oil output cuts coupled with the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict, fuel prices are anticipated to continue to fluctuate moving forward.
