Online trade exchange connects Vietnamese businesses with Thai retail group

VOV.VN - An online trade exchange took place on June 2 as part of efforts to strengthen business connectivity between Thailand's Central Group and a group of roughly 20 Vietnamese enterprises involving in food, building materials, and furniture.

The event was co-hosted by Vietnam’s Trade Office in Thailand, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, and Thailand’s Central Group.

The occasion is taking place as part of activities aimed at celebrating the 45th anniversary of the two nations' diplomatic relations, with the primary aim to help local firms make greater inroads into the Thai market.

The event also provided an ideal venue in which domestic businesses and retail firms can boost trade exchanges with the Central Group and other Thai importers amid the complicated nature of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Tran Thi Thanh My, Vietnamese Trade Counselor in Thailand, said this marks the fifth time the programme has been organised to introduce Vietnamese products to the Thai market through the Central Group’s distribution system.

A representative from Central Group also introduced Vietnamese business representatives to the group’s size and its keen interest in Vietnamese export products, adding that the event will allow them to gain greater insights into reputable businesses whilst bringing high-quality Vietnamese products to Thai consumers.

A programme named “A taste of Vietnam" is expected to be held in Thailand's Udon Thani province from June 24 to June 26 to promote Vietnamese goods and cuisine.
