Japan keen to sell more agro-aquatic products to Vietnam
VOV.VN - The Japanese Government remains keen to promote the export of agro-forestry-fisheries products to the Vietnamese market, said Watanabe Nobuhiro, Japanese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Japanese diplomat made the statement during a working session held on July 20 with Akuruhi Company, a pioneer in importing Japanese products into Vietmam.
He said the Vietnamese market ranks fifth among countries importing Japanese products, hoping that the local authorities will create the optimal conditions possible for Japanese and Vietnamese businesses to enhance connectivity and trade exchanges in order to provide a diverse range of products to consumers.
At present, Japanese seafood and milk products are highly popular among Vietnamese people, with the export of these items grow stronger each year.
He expressed his desire to see Akuruhi co-operate alongside Japan to host a programme which can introduce Japanese products to Vietnamese consumers, particularly as 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between both sides.
The two nations are partners who are involved in several free trade agreements, including the Vietnam-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (VJEPA), the ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (AJCEP), the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), and Regional Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP), said Nobuhiro.
He added that firms from both sides have swiftly moved to optimize the FTAs and enhance trade exchanges whilst accelerating import and export activities as a means of fully tapping into each other's market potential.
Several Japanese businesses have recently invested in launching shopping malls, supermarkets, and restaurant chains to introduce Japanese goods to the Vietnamese market, while simultaneously identifying the country as a strategic market for further investment expansion moving forward.
The Japanese Consul General has therefore encouraged the Akuruhi company to organise additional promotional events in order to provide consumers with a wide range of products, especially essential consumer goods, supplementary, and medical products in the time ahead.
