HCM City to host Vietnam - Cambodia business networking conference in mid-July
VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City is set to host a Vietnam - Cambodia business networking conference on July 15 to support businesses of the two countries in seeking partnerships and expanding export markets.

The conference is expected to bring together approximately 200 Vietnamese and Cambodian businesses, including 100 from Cambodia, operating in key sectors such as agriculture, seafood, food products, consumer goods, machinery, equipment, and fertilisers.
It will help facilitate information exchange, partner searching, and expansion of trade cooperation. Vietnamese companies will also have the opportunity to promote their products and gain insights into consumer trends and demand in Cambodia, helping them develop more effective market entry strategies.
In the context of a volatile global economy, increasing regional conflicts, and the resurgence of protectionism in some parts of the world, expanding export markets has become a strategic priority for Vietnamese businesses. Cambodia, as a neighbouring country with a stable economy and significant growth potential, offers valuable opportunities for effective cooperation.
As part of the event, there will be a signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and the Vietnam - Cambodia Business Association, laying a foundation for long-term cooperation.
In addition, the conference aims to promote sustainable growth in bilateral trade, stabilise supply chains, expand distribution channels, and enhance the presence and competitiveness of Vietnamese goods in Cambodia, a market with few trade barriers and rapidly growing consumer demand.
In 2024, two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Cambodia reached US$10.1 billion, marking a 17.5% increase compared to 2023. This growth reversed the previous year’s downward trend and demonstrated a positive and sustainable recovery, despite ongoing global economic uncertainties.
In the first quarter of 2025, bilateral trade totaled US$3.2 billion, up 10.2% year-on-year. Of this, Vietnam’s exports to Cambodia hit US$1.3 billion, up 9.3%, while imports from Cambodia amounted to US$1.9 billion, up 10.9%.
Vietnam is currently Cambodia’s third largest trading partner globally, after China and the United States, and the largest in within ASEAN. Conversely, Cambodia ranks as Vietnam’s fourth largest trading partner within ASEAN.
