GSM introduces Xanh SM electric taxi service in Indonesia

VOV.VN - Vietnam’s Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company (GSM) officially launched its Xanh SM electric taxi service in Indonesia on December 18, marking the firm’s presence in its third country after Vietnam and Laos.

By offering environmentally friendly and smart mobility solutions, Xanh SM is determined to establish itself in one of Southeast Asia’s most promising ride-hailing markets while contributing to global green transformation efforts.

The launch is timely, coinciding with the heightened travel demand during the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 celebrations.

Addressing the launching ceremony, Dr. Pak Riyatno, deputy chairman for Investment Climate Development at the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industries of Indonesia, expressed his belief that Xanh SM’s presence would encourage both domestic and foreign businesses to invest in the green economy.

He highlighted the service’s potential to create new opportunities for innovation, job creation, and improved living standards for Indonesians, noting that Xanh SM’s growth would contribute to building a green and sustainable economy for the country.

Xanh SM’s fleet comprises 100% VinFast Limogreen electric cars, which are emission-free, noiseless, and odorless, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and environmentally friendly travel experience. These pioneering features are expected to give Xanh SM a competitive edge in Indonesia’s dynamic ride-hailing market.

Nguyen Van Thanh, Global CEO of GSM, emphasized the significant potential of Indonesia’s market, where the demand for green and smart mobility solutions is rapidly rising. He expressed optimism that Xanh SM would provide exciting travel experiences for Indonesians while contributing to a greener future for all.

Meanwhile, Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Ta Van Thong said Xanh SM’s development plan aligns with the environmental strategies of President Prabowo Subianto, particularly Indonesia’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2060 or earlier. The ambassador noted this as an area for further cooperation between Vietnam and Indonesia to achieve shared environmental goals.

Since its establishment in April 2023, Xanh SM has quickly reaffirmed its position as a leader in green transportation. The expansion into Indonesia represents a significant step in the firm’s international journey under the “Go Green Global” initiative, with the ambition of becoming a symbol of innovation and sustainability in the global transportation industry.

Xanh SM is committed to delivering 5-star mobility services through its 5 Green Promises – excellent experience, professional drivers, well-maintained vehicles, affordable pricing and a greener environment.

The launch of Xanh SM in Indonesia not only reinforces its role in advancing sustainable transportation but also showcases the strength and innovation of a Vietnamese brand on the global stage.
