Da Nang ready to welcome Japanese investors, expand cooperation
VOV.VN - The city of Da Nang is entering a new phase of development and it is ready to welcome Japanese investors across various sectors, including trade, finance, education, culture, and the environment, said a senior leader of Da Nang.

Receiving Nishi Tetsushi, vice chairman of the Sakai City’s Parliamentary Friendship Alliance on July 7, Ho Ky Minh, vice chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee, spoke highly of the strong development of the friendship and cooperation between Da Nang and Sakai in recent times.
Most notably, Sakai City has upgraded its relationship with Da Nang to the highest level since 2019, said Minh.
According to the official, cultural exchange programmes such as children’s art exhibitions and Japanese tea ceremony showcases have become annual highlights, warmly received by the people of Da Nang.
One key initiative is the carbon-neutral urban model, sponsored by Japan’s Ministry of the Environment. The project is part of a broader City-to-City Collaboration Programme for Zero Carbon Society to promote a low-carbon society, with Da Nang currently finalising the necessary approval procedures.
The city hopes to implement the project successfully to enhance sustainable urban development and strengthen bilateral ties, said Minh.

Following the recent administrative merger with the former Quang Nam province, Da Nang has gained a larger development footprint and increased regional competitiveness. Strategic projects such as the proposed Free Trade Zone and International Financial Centre, with special policy mechanisms, are expected to position Da Nang as a new growth engine for both Central Vietnam and the broader national economy.
Minh expressed hope that Sakai would continue to support and promote cooperation between the two cities, particularly in cultural, tourism, and educational exchanges, investment attraction from Japanese businesses, and experience sharing in building free trade zones and financial centres.
“Da Nang now has abundant space and opportunities for development. We are eager to welcome Japanese investors to explore, collaborate, and grow with the city,” he stated.
