Austria’s MM partners with Vietnam’s Tam Sen on packaging printing

VOV.VN - MM Group, a global leader in the packaging printing industry of Austria, has officially signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement with Vietnam’s Tam Sen Group in Vienna.

This milestone marks a pivotal step in Tam Sen’s international expansion and aligns closely with Vietnam’s national development strategy, particularly Resolution 57-NQ/TW on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, and Resolution 68-NQ/TW on enhancing the private sector as a key growth engine.

International cooperation toward sustainable, eco-friendly packaging and digital transformation

Under the agreement, the two sides will collaborate in several key areas: jointly developing markets in printing, packaging, and related sectors including tobacco, pharmaceuticals, and consumer goods across Vietnam and the wider region; finalizing a joint venture to establish MM-Tam Sen as a business platform in Vietnam; applying advanced European technologies to produce eco-friendly packaging in line with green consumption trends; implementing digital transformation across all stages from design and production to supply chain management; and enhancing the global competitiveness of Vietnam’s packaging industry.

At the signing ceremony, Florian BinderKrieglstein, CEO of MM Group, remarked: "We highly appreciate the strengthening relationship and friendship between the governments of Vietnam and Austria – a foundation that facilitates strategic partnerships between enterprises from both nations. Vietnam is a dynamic market with a large consumer base and impressive growth potential. We are especially impressed by Tam Sen Group’s capabilities, innovative mindset, and commitment to sustainable development, particularly in delivering eco-friendly packaging solutions. With more than 60 factories worldwide and an ecosystem for innovation, MM Group is committed to accompanying Tam Sen in bringing high-quality, environmentally responsible packaging products to the Vietnamese market at optimized costs. This strategic partnership is part of MM’s long-term expansion strategy in Asia, with Vietnam playing a central role in setting new standards for the regional packaging industry."

Duong Manh Thang, Chairman of Tam Sen Group, added: “We believe that working with a global leader like MM Group, with more than 100 years of expertise, opens valuable opportunities for Tam Sen to access cutting-edge technologies, modern management practices, and meet international standards. This partnership is not only strategic but also timely, reflecting our ambitions and commitment to sustainable development in Vietnam.”

Supporting national aspirations for transformation

Amid Vietnam’s sweeping reforms driven by Resolution 57-NQ/TW and Resolution 68-NQ/TW, Tam Sen Group is proud to be part of a new wave of private enterprises that are bold, innovative, and globally integrated. The strategic agreement with MM Group is not only economically beneficial, but also a concrete step toward supporting the government’s vision of building a modern, innovative, and sustainable industrial foundation.

With a strong focus on environmental responsibility and technology, Tam Sen is accelerating digital transformation, modernizing its supply chain, and investing in green packaging solutions to drive industrial growth without compromising sustainability.

As part of the European visit, Tam Sen also toured MM Group’s tobacco packaging facility and Innovation Center in Trier, Germany. Both sides emphasized their shared long-term vision for sustainable development in Vietnam, while prioritizing emissions reduction, increased recycling, and alignment with EU green standards.
