Agroviet 2016 gets underway in Hanoi
VOV.VN -The 16th International Agriculture Trade Fair – Agroviet 2016 (November 11-15) – has gotten underway in Hanoi with more than 300 domestic and foreign exhibitors showcasing their wares in roughly 40 booths.
On display are thousands of processed foods, handicrafts from Hanoi’s craft villages (Bat Trang ceramics, Van Phuc silk, Quat Dong embroidery, and Ha Thai lacquer paintings), safe and high-quality fruit, along with regional agricultural specialties from across Vietnam.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Quoc Doanh said despite economic difficulties in recent years and climate change, the agricultural segment has regained growth momentum.

Exports of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in the first ten months of 2016 rose 6.3% year-on-year to US$26.4 billion, he added.
Doanh asserted that the event offers a good opportunity for businesses, manufacturers, and researchers to share experiences, approach advanced technologies, and improve the competitive edge of products.
The fair will also serve as a bridge between production and consumption, promote agri-forestry and seafood products in the local market, and strengthen trade ties with foreign business partners, he said.
