Young Vietnamese win 25 prizes at US piano contests

At Lansum International Music Festival, the Vietnamese team brought home 22 prizes, including 6 first prizes, seven second prizes and four consolation prizes. Especially, Tran Minh Chau, Truong Thi Ngan Ha, and Phan Thien Bach Anh bagged prizes at all four competition categories. These excellent contestants were chosen to perform at the awards ceremony. This annual festival started last year.

The Lansum Festival this year drew more than 100 contestants from the US, China and Vietnam.

At the fifth Los Angeles Young Musicians International Competition, Phan Thien Bach Anh (13 years old) bagged the third prize while Truong Thi Ngan Ha (13) and Tran Minh Chau (12) won consolation prizes.

This year’s contest attracted 106 young pianists from the US, China, Canada, Russia, Belarus, France and Vietnam.
