Space dedicated to promoting the beauty of Vietnamese 'Ao Dai'
A Vietnamese 'Ao dai' space will open on December 11 in Hanoi in order to provide visitors with a venue to promote the traditional Vietnamese long dress.

Located inside Lanhuong Fashion House, which is owned by fashion designer Lan Huong, the space will display samples of Ao dai from different historical periods, from the Ly, Tran and Nguyen Dynasties to the modern day.
Visitors to the space can explore the process of making Ao dai, including designing, tailoring, embroidering and finishing them.
They can also exchange talks with artisans from silkworm farming village of My Duc, Van Phuc Silk Village, Quat Dong Embroidery Village, and Trieu Khuc Weaving Village.
According to Do Dinh Hong, director of Hanoi’s Tourism Department, the launching of the space aims to create a new tourist attraction for visitors to Hanoi as well as a meeting venue for fashion designers from home and abroad.
The space is also expected to facilitate cultural and tourist exchanges hosted by the Hanoi People’s Committee and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The space will be open for free to visitors at 18 Au Co Street in Hanoi’s Tay Ho district.
Designer Lan Huong, who is a Hanoian, has developed a strong attachment to Vietnamese Ao dai and has worked to promote the national costume to foreign friends. She was the first one to be awarded the Vietnam Ao Dai Artisan title.
