Romantic masterpieces to be performed by Hanoi Symphony Orchestra at Ho Guom Theater
VOV.VN - The Hanoi Symphony Orchestra will present a concert titled “Chopin-Rimsky-Korsakov” at Ho Guom Theater in Hanoi on June 21, featuring some of the most brilliant romantic classics in Western classical music.

People's Artist Bui Cong Duy, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, said this concert is a special highlight of the orchestra’s 2025–2026 season. It will showcase two promising young Vietnamese pianists, Nguyen Duc Kien and Luu Danh Khoi, who have recently achieved impressive academic success. The orchestra and the academy aim to nurture and develop young talents to better integrate into regional and international music scenes.
The performance, conducted by Nayden Todorov, Music Director of the National Opera House of Bulgaria, and led by concertmaster Chuong Vu, will feature masterpieces by Chopin and Rimsky-Korsakov.
The first half will immerse the audience in the deeply emotional and refined world of Chopin through his two piano concertos, Piano Concerto No.1 in E minor, Op.11, and Piano Concerto No.2 in F minor, Op.21- works composed in his early twenties that fully embody the romantic, lyrical style he is known for. Pianists Nguyen Duc Kien and Luu Danh Khoi will offer fresh, powerful interpretations of these concertos.
The second half will feature Rimsky-Korsakov’s vibrant nationalist masterpiece, Capriccio Espagnol, Op.34. Drawing on rich orchestral colors and Spanish folk influences, this piece highlights virtuosic technique and festive spirit, allowing the orchestra to display its full range of skills.
