Mural paintings at Noi Bai Airport wins international design award
VOV.VN - Two large murals by painter Nguyen Thu Thuy at Terminal 2 of Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi have been awarded a gold medal in the Public Arts Design for Society at A’Design Awards & Competition in Italy.

| Painter Thu Thuy began constructing the two mural paintings along with nine other colleagues in November 2018 and completed the pieces in January 2019. |

| Thuy said that she used anti-dust exterior painting colours often seen in construction work to ensure the durability of the pieces. The colours were carefully mixed in order to allow viewers to witness the true colours of the flower. |

| Thuy’s mural art has quickly become a popular feature at Noi Bai International Airport. The image features a lotus flower pond pained across a 360sq.m wall. |

| The lotus flower is an important symbol in Vietnamese culture, not only is it the logo of the national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, but it is also considered the country’s national flower. |

| Many viewers have been impressed by the scale of the work with each flower and leaf being very large and painted in exquisite detail. |
