Gout de France – Brings feast for eyes and palate
VOV.VN -For the second year in a row, chefs in fine restaurants in Vietnam’s five largest cities will participate on March 21 in the culinary feast – Gout de France – also promoted as Good France.
The event is the joint effort of more than 1,700 chefs on five continents who will prepare meals for their patrons inspired by French cooking.
Participating restaurants have been asked to put together a typical French menu, including an aperitif and canapes, an hors d’oeuvre, main course, cheese, dessert, red and white French wines, and Champagne.

In total there are 25 restaurants in Vietnam’s five largest cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Danang and Hoi An that are participating.
French dinners will also be served at 150 French embassies around the globe including the embassy in Hanoi and the French Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.
In the menu chefs are asked to sparingly use fat, sugar and salt, stressing alternative healthier ingredients, good for the environment.
Participating restaurants are also encouraged to donate five percent of proceeds from the event to organizations supporting health and the environment.
The participating restaurants range from casual to fine dining, and they are authorized to set their own prices.
