French pianist Marie Vermeulin will perform at the French Cultural Centre L’Espace, 24 Trang Tien Street, Hanoi, at 8pm on February 9.
At the event, pieces composed by Olivier Messiaen (1908-1992) and Claude Debussy (1862-1918) will be presented.
Born in 1983, pianist Marie Vermeulin has won many prizes, including second prize at the International Olivier Messiaen Competition in 2007, second prize at the Maria Canals de Barcelona Competition in 2006 and seven other prizes, including Grand Prix prize in an international music competition in 2004.
In recent years, she has particularly focused on the field of contemporary music and cooperated closely with composers Mauro Lanza, Ramon Humet, Philippe Fenelon and Pierre Boulez.
