The Vietnamese government hopes to boost cooperation in trade and investment with Mexico for the mutual benefit of both countries, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung told the out-going Mexican Ambassador Ricardo Camara.

On receiving Ambassador Ricardo Camara, who had paid his farewell visit to the PM before the end of his term of office in Vietnam on May 11, PM Dung expressed his delight at the growing Vietnam-Mexican relationship with bilateral trade reaching almost USD600 million so far.

However, the PM said, the two countries have a great potential to promote bilateral trade for their mutual benefit.

With regarding to the spread of A/H1N1 flu in Mexico, the PM said Vietnam is closely monitoring the development of the disease and every country has a responsibility to work together to combat the global epidemic. Ambassador Ricardo Camara pledged to actively contribute to fostering relations between the two countries in the future.
